Lacuna

Another Agatha Christie. A Poirot: The Hollow or Murder After Hours. The victim is found with a fatal gunshot wound- his wife, Gerda, is standing over him with a pistol but it is not the pistol that killed him and she is too dim-witted to explain herself so the police let it go at that, and do
not press her for an explanation. Of course she is not dim-witted at all and switched pistols. Hmm.
Then watched the beautifully photographed Peter Ustinov film adaptation of 'Evil Under The Sun'. Again, a big hat is crucial to concealing the victim and the murderer. Honestly! As a young girl, Agatha Christie must have been startled by a haberdasher.
